The focus of the Rockefeller Foundation's work in the humanities has changed from research interests of scholars to a greater concentration of cultural diffusion aimed at the general public with grants for museums, drama, film and radio. Internationally, areas of program concentration included cultural interchange through libraries, development of understanding with the Far East, and the improvement of international communication.
