Papers of the American lawyer, lay theologian, author. Collection contains book manuscript and other material related to the publication of The Bishop Pike Affair, written in conjunction with Anthony Towne.

Papers of the New York State governor (1913), congressional representative (1895-1913), lawyer. Collection includes mostly outgoing letters, a few of which (Eugene Brewster, Everett Wheeler) refer to Tammany Hall and the impeachment proceedings against the then-Governor. Also a group of 11 incoming letters is in connection with a dinner given by Sulzer in honor of Perry Belmont.

Papers of the British social reformer; secretary of the Howard Association, an organization devoted to prison reform. Incoming letters on reform issues in England, particularly prison reform. Correspondents include clergymen (Davidson, Martineau, Stanley, Tait); statesmen (Balfour, R. Churchill, W.E. Gladstone, Parnell); social reformers (Booth, Bradlaugh, Bright, Carpenter, Cobbe, Ouida); philanthropists (Bass, Shaftesbury); and authors (Froude, Houghton, Lecky, MacDonald, Sala).

The William Titus Papers contains a wide range of activities generally focusing on Titus' personal businesses including land ownership and his representation of clients before the US War Department's Pension Office. The collection also contains personal correspondence as well as some records from his role as warden of the Auburn Prison.

The collection is comprised of 16 framed letters, photographs and signatures of Mark Twain on permanent display in the Mark Twain Room of the Gannett-Tripp Library, Elmira College, Elmira, N.Y.

The William T. Melchior Papers consist of correspondence, class materials, datebooks, newspaper clippings, notes, photographs, and audio recordings of the professor’s life.
