The Westminster Presbyterian Church Collection contains material associated with South Presbyterian Church, Franklin Street Presbyterian Church, and Westminster Presbyterian Church including programs, photographs, newspaper clippings, and a scrapbook.

Biographical / historical:

Westminster Presbyterian Church was formed in 1961 as a merger between the South Presbyterian (1821-1961) and Franklin Street Presbyterian Churches (1881-1961). The new congregation operated out of the old Franklin Street Presbyterian Church before constructing a building of their own at 1009 Maple Avenue in 1966. The church closed in 2018.

The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by the Westminster Presbyterian Church in 2018.

Restrictions:

The Chemung County Historical Society's research library and archives are open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
