The Pauline Vesely Papers include documents relating to the Women’s Ambulance Defense Corps, Bendix-Eclipse, and the Rebekahs, as well as other personal papers.

Biographical / historical:

Pauline Vesely Dennison (1916-2007) was born in Alpine, NY. During World War II, she worked at the Bendix-Eclipse plant in Elmira Heights and was a noncommissioned officer in the local division of the Women's Ambulance Defense Corpse. She was also a member of the Rebekahs Holly Lodge No. 249 in Elmira Heights. In 1946, she married Arthur J. Dennison of Moreland, NY and spent the remainder of her life in Schuyler County.

The items in this collection were transferred to the Booth Library from Schuyler County Historical Society in 2018.

Restrictions:

The Chemung County Historical Society's research library and archives are open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
