- Biographical / historical:

Martha Horton (1934-present) is a professional writer with a B.A. in journalism from Penn State University. She has worked as an editor, columnist, publicist, advertising copywriter, and foreign correspondent. In Chemung County, she was public relations and publications director at Elmira College and Corning Community College, editor-in-chief of The Chemung Valley Reporter weekly newspaper, and a columnist for the Elmira Star-Gazette prior to her retirement.
