Scope and content:

The Lillian Bystrom Scrapbook Collection contains two scrapbooks of materials related to local music and theatrical performances from 1923 to 1932, and 1961 to 1967.

Biographical / historical:

Lillian Bystrom (1908-1988) of Elmira was worked at the New York Telephone Company and was a violinist with the Elmira Symphony Orchestra. She began her music career in the 1920s playing in the Elmira Free Academy orchestra, as well as various private recitals. She was an avid theatergoer.

Acquisition information:
The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by Diana Rackley in 2016.

Restrictions:

The Chemung County Historical Society's research library and archives are open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
