The Way Family Scrapbook collection contains 3 scrapbooks compiled by Louise Way from 1889 to 1925. Scrapbook #1 contains material related to theatrical events in Elmira and Corning, 1889-1911. Scrapbook #2 contains material related to Mrs. Way's family, friends, social life and charitable activities, 1894-1925. Scrapbook #3 is a travel log of the Way's trip to Yellowstone National Park and Colorado in 1905.

Louise Hughson of Big Flats, daughter of Emily and Simeon Hughson, married Herbert C. Way of Corning on November 23, 1898. The couple settled in Elmira where Herbert was a well-to-do tobacco dealer at Goff, Way & Brand Co. Louise was involved in a number of women's and charitable organizations including the Women's Federation for Social Services, the D.A.R. and Red Cross. The couple had three children: Emily, Eckley and John. Louise died in 1929 while Herbert died in 1941.
