The Agnes Pastirik Papers contain materials collected by the Pastirik family including booklets, catalogs and brochures on home improvement and farming; Republican Party promotional literature and internal memos; and miscellaneous materials.

Biographical / historical:

Joseph Pastirik (1898-1963) and wife Agnes Kadlec Pastirik (1904-1972), were residents of Horseheads. Joseph worked for the Eclipse Machine Division of Bendix Aviation Corps, while Agnes was involved in small-scale agriculture including strawberry farming. Their son, Henry Pastirik (1920-1998) and wife Jean Morgan Pastirik (1925-1993), also resided in Horseheads. Henry worked at Purolator Products and Jean was heavily involved in Republican Party politics at both the state and local level.

Acquisition information:
The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by James Plate in 2002.

Restrictions:

The Chemung County Historical Society's research library and archives are open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
