The Adria Peck Scrapbook Collection contains scrapbooks compiled by Adria Peck concerning the Thursday Morning Musicales and Elmira Community Concert Association, 1934-1949; and the Elmira social scene, 1930s-1940s.

Biographical / historical:

Adria Mathews Snyder Peck (January 14, 1920- November 13, 2009) was the daughter of Chemung County Judge John A. Mathews (1885-1977) and Anna VanDyke Mathews (1892-1979). Anna Matthews was an active member of the Thursday Morning Musicales and the first chair of the Elmira Community Concert Association. Adria was involved in both the Adelphia Society and the Junior League. She married Claude R. Synder Jr. of Snyder Brothers Printing Co. in 1938. She later married Clarence Peck (1902-1980).

Acquisition information:
The items in this collection were donated to the Booth Library by the Estate of Adria Peck in 2010.

Restrictions:

The Chemung County Historical Society's research library and archives are open to the public from 1pm to 5pm, Monday through Friday. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
