Aaron Cook (born March 16, 1850) of Addison, New York married Ruth Vanpelt (born November 3, 1953) on January 11, 1872. The couple settled in the town of Lindley in Steuben County before heading to Michigan in 1877. Their children were Justus (born October 22, 1872), William (born July 18, 1874), Lillie (born April 30, 1876), Edith (born July 6, 1878), Charles (born September 16, 1881), Bertha (born June 4, 1884) and Jessie (born May 9, 1887). Their second son, William, married Mary Baird (born February 18, 1889) of Michigan and, in 1916, the couple moved to Elmira with their young son, Arthur (born July 17, 1909).
