Biographical / historical:

Winfred J. Smith was a professional party planner and "decorative architect" who operated from an office in the Chamber of Commerce Building. She planned and organized major weddings, receptions and other events for Rochester, New York's wealthy, white upper class. While she worked for a large clientele, she is perhaps most notable for her involvement in many of the lavish parties hosted by George Eastman.
