Scope and content:

This file consists of ten documents relating to Alfred Langklotz and his family. The documents are as follows: letters, a thrift card, a certificate of naturalization, regulations on permits for German immigrants, and work papers. These documents detail life for German Immigrants between the years of 1898-1919.

Biographical / historical:

Alfred Langklotz was officially naturalized in the United States in October 1890 in the state of Illinois. Alfred supported his wife Della's family financially even after her father died in 1918. Della became ill shortly after and was also unable to work. Alfred continued to support Della and her family in their home in Chicago, Illinois.
