Lawrence "Doc" Mason, Jr. is a professor of photography in the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University. "Doc" Mason was a professor on campus in 1988, and lost five of his students in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 of Lockerbie, Scotland. He has made many trips to Lockerbie over the years, and accumulated numerous photographs of the town and surrounding area. In 2008, many of these photos were published in a book titled Looking for Lockerbie, which "Doc" co-authored with Melissa Chessher, another Newhouse faculty member.
