Scope and content:

The Jerry Happek Photographs consists of photographs with subject content concerning parade floats from Spring Weekend, Colgate Weekend posters, architecture students, a football game in Archibold Stadium, and Dottie Grover - a well known majorette at Syracuse University.

Biographical / historical:

Jerry Happek (1921-2015) was a student veteran at Syracuse University in the late 1940s to early 1950s. He was a German immigrant and Holocaust survivor, whose family moved to the United States and settled in Syracuse, New York. He was a member of the United States Army, and saw duty during World War II in Italy, North Africa and Austria. Under the GI Bill, he attended Syracuse University and graduated in 1951 with a Liberal Arts degree from the School of Architecture. After graduation, he had a career as an architect and was a member of the American Institute of Architects and New York State Association of Architects.

Transfer from the Office of Alumni Engagement in 2001.

All photographs were placed in mylar sleeves and placed in an acid free folder.
