Background

Scope and content:

The Ray M. Clark Scrapbook starts with clippings, ticket stubs, game schedules, pins, and programs from various sporting events including football and baseball. Also included in the scrapbook is a paper megaphone with signatures on the back, and various dance cards from junior and senior dances as well as those held by various fraternities. As a member of Delta Tau Delta, Clark's scrapbook contains many fraternity related items such as dance cards, banquet and conference programs, and an attendance ribbon. Also inserted is a membership certificate for Sigma Mu Beta, an honorary advertising and selling fraternity founded at Syracuse University in 1921.

Biographical / historical:

Ray Mason Clark was born in Walton, New York. He attended Syracuse University from 1921 to 1926 and was involved in the Economics Club and the Chemistry Club. While at Syracuse University, Clark was also a member and chapter president of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and a member of the honorary fraternity Sigma Mu Beta. He graduated from Syracuse University in February 1926 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He died on June 24, 1978.

Acquisition information:
In 2016 the Ray M. Clark Scrapbook was separated from the Delta Tau Delta Collection, which had been donated to the Archives by Delta Tau Delta in 1982.
Processing information:

Scrapbook was tied with string to secure the contents together and placed in an archival box.
