Background

Scope and content:

The Fraternity Party Posters collection consists of 40 posters from the mid-1960's, representing twenty two different Fraternities. The donor, Lombard Pozzi, collected the posters for his dorm room while a freshman at RPI. Later, as house manager for the Rensselaer Society of Engineers, Pozzi continued to collect the house's posters after parties. The posters advertise upcoming parties and events. The posters were made by hand on heavy poster board using spray paint, stenciling and free hand drawing techniques. According to the donor, the posters hung on trees along the walk from the Troy building to the old '87 Gym.

Biographical / historical:

Lombard Pozzi is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor in Architecture, 1968. Pozzi currently practices as a preservation architect in Bristol, Rhode Island.
