Lewis Benton III (1944-) was Commission of Public Safety, 1988-1995; chair of the City Planning Board, 2002-2007; a member of the City Charter Revision Committee, 2000-2001; chair of the Saratoga Springs Downtown Transportation Plan Advisory Committee, 2005-2006.
In addition, he chaired the Saratoga Springs Public Safety Capital Construction Committee, 2006-2009.
In 1992, as Commissioner of Public Safety, he designed and implemented the Saratoga Springs Fire Department’s demand for a responsive emergency medical service system.
