Amelia Mott Caldwell was born in Poughkeepsie and moved to Saratoga Springs as a child with her family. She was a member of the first class to graduate from Saratoga High School. She married Joseph H. Caldwell in 1878 and they had three children. Mella died on July 14, 1937.
