Dr. Freeman wrote a letter to "Helen" on 8 Sept. 1814 discussing the 24 Aug. 1814 burning of the Capital.

Dr. Samuel Freeman, born in New Hampshire 1790 and died 1870. Set up medical practice in Ballston Spa, then moved his practice to Saratoga Springs . Was elected Saratoga County Sheriff in 1837.
Dr. Freeman was the Supervisor of Saratoga Springs in 1853. He was part of the Whig and Republican political party.
