Louis Rossi worked for the New York Department of Transportation as an engineer, director of rail programs, and transportation planner. Being an avid bicyclist, Rossi wrote a guide for cycling the many canal trails in NY titled Cycling Along the Canals of New York, which was released in 1999. A revised edition was released in 2005.
