Collections

This collection is made up of memos and correspondence informing faculty on University policy. These were created by the Administrative Communications Groups who were responsible for disseminating information about meetings of the administration.

Admiral B. Combs's papers provide a glimpse into the RPI graduate's professional career as a civil engineer with a focus on deisel pile drivers and articles about fellow RPI alumni involved in WWII.

Correspondence, some in French and Russian, telegrams, scrapbooks, photograph albums, costume sketches, and other materials relating to the San Francisco Ballet, Sergei Diaghilev's Ballet Russe, and others. Correspondents include Agnes De Mille, Romola Nijinsky, Ruth Page, Leopold Stokowski, Igor Stravinsky, and others.

Biographical material includes biographies; personal papers from teaching at the University of Kiel, 1926–31 and University of Manchester, 1933–40; papers from Lowe's 80th birthday (1973); Veblen–Commons Award, 1979; interview with Die Zeit, 1988; correspondence, 1928–91; writings by Lowe, including lectures, speeches, published and unpublished works. Lowe was one of the founders of the New School for Social Research comprised mostly of the German intellectual Émigrés to the USA prior to WWII.

Papers of the American corporation executive, philanthropist, author. Collection includes manuscript books, essays, and speeches; notebooks. Also, annual reports and other publications of the American Horse Shows Association and the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences.

This collection contains scrapbooks about the Thursday Morning Musicales and the Elmira social scene compiled by Adria Peck.
